The Hawaiian Railway

Train20081019_001, originally uploaded by suncfye.

Last Sunday I took a trip on the Hawaiian Railway. They have an amazing junkyard right next to the station. It's in a little village in south west Hawaii that time seems to have frozen...although they are building a costco now. The train ride itself was about an hour long and chugged past new housing divisions, golf courses, beautiful ocean and the Waianae homeless.

Magic Island Photo Shoot

I'm especially proud of this last photo although I didn't spend as much time as I would have liked. With my photoshop powers, I can travel though time! Of course this looks like the most random group of photos, they were all taken in about 1 hour yesterday at Magic Island.

Room with a View

The view from my window. Patched it myself on Photoshop-no special program. :(

Manoa Falls

Count the legs on this chicken.

One of my favorite places in Hawaii. Manoa Falls is full of beauty, mystery and danger (if you believe the promotional material found in the parking lot). For me it represents having the crap scared out of me by a man living in a tent in the middle of the bamboo forest, nearly getting arrested by an undercover cop for wading in the pool at the bottom of the falls, and now a 6 hour experience taking photos and getting one of the better workouts of the year.

Foster Botanical Garden

A couple weeks ago, Nancy, Kyle & I went to Foster Botanical Garden to take pictures & just get out of the house. It's crazy that there's this mini forest in the middle of downtown (right off Vineyard). Only $3, and it's pretty empty, so you have the whole garden to yourself.
